About Amici Law

Amici Law is a small firm based in Aurora, Ontario, serving York Region since 2017. Lana Cocieru founded the firm after earning a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Political Science from York University, a Master of Arts in European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies from Carleton University, and a J.D. from the University of Ottawa. Cocieru was called to the Ontario Bar and remains a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario, appearing at all levels of court in Ontario, including the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

The firm's practice covers four areas: family law, including separation, divorce, child and spousal support, and parenting arrangements; residential real estate transactions; wills and estate planning, offered as flat fee packages; and notary public and commissioner of oaths services. Cocieru's academic background in European, Russian, and Eurasian studies carries into client service, and the firm offers English, Spanish, Russian, and Romanian, with conversational German and Italian. Legal assistant and licensed paralegal Kyla Jamieson has been with the firm since March 2021 and is pursuing a Master of Laws at Osgoode Hall Law School.
