INSPIRE Law is the solo practice of Teneil MacNeil, working from downtown Waterloo, Ontario. The firm concentrates on family-building law: adoption (relative, kinship, step-parent, and adult adoptions), surrogacy and donor agreements, declarations of parentage, and birth registrations, along with independent legal advice for surrogates, donors, and intended parents. MacNeil earned an honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo in 2003 and an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School, was called to the Ontario bar in 2007, and made partner at a national firm in 2016 before starting this independent practice. The work is informed by lived experience, since the founder is an adoptive parent and a parent through assisted reproduction.
