Don Travers is the managing partner. Don earned a Juris Doctor at Queen's University in 1972 and was called to the bar in 1974. Partner Bryan Mayes took an undergraduate degree at Queen's and a law degree at the University of Windsor, was called in Ontario in 2015 and joined Travers Law in 2017. Bryan's work today centres on residential and commercial real estate.
Robert A. Sheldon, also a partner, studied at Dalhousie University and then earned a Juris Doctor at Windsor before an Ontario call in 2013. Associate Nekeisha Hercules-Lowe was called in Barbados and in Trinidad and Tobago in 2007, then completed the Federation of Law Societies of Canada's National Certificate of Accreditation and joined the Ontario bar in 2023. Barry Paquette, counsel to the firm, was called in 1972 and practised at every level of Ontario's courts, including the Court of Appeal and Divisional Court.

Don Travers founded the firm in 1981 under the name Paquette Travers and has practised steadily for 40 years since.
In July 2022 the firm grew by merger. Robert Sheldon had opened Sheldon Law in Guelph, handling real estate, wills and powers of attorney, and corporate law, and brought it together with Paquette Travers, which now carries the Travers Law name.
Travers Law has acted on home purchases, sales and refinances for more than 40 years and prices each as a plan. A plan bundles legal fees, disbursements, a software fee and a bank wire charge, plus a title insurance administration fee on purchases and refinances only. HST and third-party costs such as land transfer tax, registration fees and a condominium status certificate are billed separately.
New wills and powers of attorney clients start with a fillable PDF intake form on the firm's site. For estates, Travers Law offers advice and guidance to executors and administrators on applying for a Certificate of Appointment of Estate Trustee (with or without a will), collecting and preserving assets, paying debts and handling income tax considerations. Once the firm has gathered all the information it needs, the application can be signed within two weeks.
The business practice is aimed at small and mid-sized companies in and around its four office cities, with work such as incorporation, franchise agreement reviews, minute book reconstructions and amalgamations. Travers Law isn't an accounting firm, so it works alongside a client's existing accountant or can suggest one to a business new to the area.
Family work runs through Barry Paquette Professional Corporation. It covers separation and divorce, property division, child and spousal support, and mediation and arbitration.

The Kitchener-Waterloo office at 423 King Street North sits at King and Weber in Waterloo and is the base for all of the firm's lawyers and its operations. Travers Law has been there since 2018. It's under five minutes from the University of Waterloo, Wilfrid Laurier University, Conestoga College's Waterloo campus and Conestoga Mall, with on-site parking, wheelchair access and Highway 85 nearby.
In Cambridge, the office at 231 Shearson Crescent is in Galt, on the corner of Bishop Street North and Can-Amera Parkway. Highway 401 is a quick drive by Franklin Boulevard or Townline Road, and Hespeler Road is close. The firm moved in during 2022 and shares the building with other businesses. Bryan Mayes, who lives in Cambridge, runs things there and across greater Cambridge.
Guelph's office at 100 Gordon Street is a short hop from downtown, near Highway 7, Stone Road Mall and Exhibition Park, with parking out front and wheelchair access. Robert Sheldon, a Guelph resident for the past ten years, oversees it along with the firm's County of Wellington practice. In Milton, Travers Law has worked since 2023 from Bronte Professional Place at 330 Bronte Street South, a few minutes from downtown and reached from Highway 401 at the Highway 25/Martin Street exit, with on-site parking and wheelchair access.
