Harris Law is a Kitchener personal injury firm with more than 25 years of experience behind its injury cases, and that work includes cross-border claims and clients who live outside Ontario or outside Canada. The team is founding partner Gordon Harris, partner Alicia D. Stuart, associates Randy Knight, Shania Robinson and Nicolas Jeganathan, and counsel Daniel J. Fife. Harris grew up in Waterloo and holds an honours BA from Wilfrid Laurier University, along with a law degree and an MBA from the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Almost seven years of litigation in Alberta, focused on personal injury and aboriginal litigation, came before the return to Ontario.
Stuart articled with Harris, was called to the Ontario bar in 2013 and now runs a broad injury practice that takes in car accidents and falls, dog bites, insurance denials, assault claims and medical malpractice. Knight acted for plaintiffs at another local injury firm and spent a year at a national firm working for both plaintiffs and defendants, then joined Harris Law late in 2014. Knight has also represented victims of sexual and physical assault at Criminal Injuries Compensation Board hearings. Robinson, who was born and raised in Waterloo Region, joined the firm in 2021 and keeps a broad personal injury practice.
Fife spent the first half of a career defending insurance claims as a partner at a larger firm. Today Fife sits as a deputy judge of the Small Claims Court in Kitchener and teaches law at Wilfrid Laurier University. Injury files are taken on contingency, so clients don't pay unless Harris Law recovers compensation for them.
History
Harris Law grew out of a predecessor firm in St. Catharines. Gordon Harris joined that firm in 2004, became a partner in 2006 and led the expansion that opened a Kitchener-Waterloo office in 2007. Harris moved back to Kitchener for good in 2009 and started Harris Law in the city in 2015.
