About Veena Pohani

Veena Pohani, Barrister and Solicitor, is a sole family law practice with an office in the Don Mills area of Toronto, inside the Two Morneau Shepell Centre building on Don Mills Road. Veena Pohani earned an LL.B. from the University of Ottawa in 1994, after undergraduate studies in business administration and political science at York University. The practice concentrates on family law, with particular attention to property division involving pensions, holding companies, restricted stock units and stock options, and financial fraud by a spouse, along with divorce, child and spousal support, separation agreements, and health care and estates litigation. Veena Pohani has appeared at every level of court in Ontario and has prepared factums for the Supreme Court of Canada. An associate at the firm also focuses on family law matters and belongs to the Ontario Family Law Association.

The practice serves a substantial South Asian client base and has built particular experience with divorces where a spouse lives in India, cases that require service of court documents through the Hague Convention process. Veena Pohani has also served as a panel lawyer on the Consent and Capacity Board, work that involves capacity findings and end of life decisions for patients in Ontario health care facilities.
