The Law Office of Anthony G. Bryant is a solo criminal defence practice in Toronto, built around one lawyer's decades at the criminal bar. Bryant earned an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1971 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1973. The practice traces back to a partnership at Salem & Bryant, where Bryant trained under Harvey Salem, Q.C., and later became a partnership with Paul Burstein under the name Burstein Bryant Barristers from 2010 to 2017, before returning to a sole practice.
Much of the work centers on lengthy homicide, drug, and dangerous offender trials. Bryant has defended more than 50 homicide cases across Ontario, plus one in British Columbia, and appeared as counsel in the trial of Paul Bernardo and in the Just Desserts and Bandidos homicide prosecutions. The firm's published case record runs from 1973 to 2025, touching Charter challenges over how evidence was obtained, trial fairness, and the right to counsel. The practice also takes on impaired driving, sexual assault, fraud, drug conspiracy, and professional discipline matters, and Bryant has belonged to the Criminal Lawyers' Association for close to 50 years.
By appointmentThe office sits in the Finch and Keele Commercial Centre at 1280 Finch Avenue West, a multi-tenant professional office building a short walk from Finch West subway station and York University in Toronto's north end. Bryant's homicide and serious criminal defence work regularly takes the practice to courthouses well outside Toronto, and the firm's own site lists it as serving clients as far as Ottawa, Hamilton, London, Barrie, and Thunder Bay, with the Finch Avenue office close to the 400 and 401 corridors that make that kind of travel practical.
