About Switzer Family Law

Switzer Family Law is a small family law firm in Toronto, led by principal Robyn Switzer. Switzer was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2010 and has focused on family law and child protection law since then, appearing at all levels of court in Ontario. Switzer holds a joint Juris Doctor and Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Toronto, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Simon Fraser University, and articled as a judicial law clerk for Superior Court of Justice judges in Toronto before entering practice.

The firm handles divorce and separation, child protection matters involving the Children's Aid Society, adoption, and family law for LGBTQ+ clients building families through assisted reproduction or adoption. The firm also offers mediation and arbitration services, and Switzer serves as a panel lawyer for the Office of the Children's Lawyer, acting as counsel for children in family court matters. The team includes Cindy Larocque, a parenting coordinator with a master's degree in clinical psychology and close to three decades in assessment psychology, who supports the firm's parenting coordination work. Switzer also sits on the board of the Association of Family and Conciliatory Courts of Ontario and speaks at continuing legal education programs for the Ontario and Canadian Bar Associations and the Law Society of Upper Canada.
