About Mirza Law

Mirza Law is a small employment and long term disability firm based in Scarborough, on McNicoll Avenue, serving clients across the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario more broadly. Amir Mirza founded the firm in 2017 after starting a career at Ontario litigation firms focused on plaintiff side personal injury work. Mirza is a graduate of the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law and the University of Waterloo, both with honours, and worked in health reform policy advocacy before law school. The firm is licensed by the Law Society of Ontario, and its founder belongs to the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and the Canadian Bar Association.

The practice covers two connected areas: employment matters such as severance review, wrongful and constructive dismissal, and workplace harassment or discrimination, plus long term disability claims that an insurer has denied or cut off. Amir Mirza has lived experience with disability, which shaped the firm's focus on invisible and contested conditions like chronic pain, depression, and autoimmune disease, and the firm works in a co-counsel arrangement with senior disability counsel on LTD files. Most matters run on contingency, severance reviews are offered at a flat fee, and consultations are available in English or Farsi. Much of the work happens by phone, video, and a secure document portal, so clients don't need to travel to the office.
