Virtual appointmentsMayo Law is a small cross-border law firm with offices in Toronto and New York, serving individuals, families, founders, investors, and businesses whose legal needs cross the Canada-US border. The firm describes its own positioning as Toronto-first, with cross-border work added when a client's business or family situation calls for it. Its practice covers Canadian and US immigration, Ontario real estate, business and corporate law, compliance and risk management, white collar defense, and notary public services in both Ontario and New York.
The firm operates through two affiliated entities, Mayo Law PC in Ontario and Joseph Mayo PLLC in New York, each licensed and responsible for its own jurisdiction. Joseph Mayo, the firm's principal attorney, holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from New York University School of Law, is licensed with the Law Society of Ontario and the New York State Bar, and belongs to the American Bar Association. That dual licensure means a client with matters spanning both countries can work with a single firm rather than retaining separate counsel in each one.

HourlyMayo Law's Toronto office is in First Canadian Place at 100 King Street West, Suite 5600, at the corner of King and Bay in the Financial District. First Canadian Place has been one of Canada's tallest office towers since it opened in 1975, holding the national height record until 2025, and it now serves as the global operational executive office of the Bank of Montreal. It's a fitting address for a practice built around business, corporate, and cross-border transactional work rather than neighbourhood walk-in matters.
The New York office sits on the 23rd floor at 165 Broadway, also in a Financial District, this one in Lower Manhattan. The building, known as One Liberty Plaza, opened in the early 1970s on the site of the former City Investing Building, with Zuccotti Park directly to its south. A Bay Street tower and a Broadway high-rise put Mayo Law inside the commercial cores that its founder and investor clients are usually building businesses in or moving into.
