Ivan Steele Law is a solo immigration and family law practice based in Toronto, in private practice since 2009. It runs as a fully virtual operation: client meetings happen by Zoom, Skype, or FaceTime, by appointment only, and the Sackville Street address doesn't take walk-ins. On the immigration side the firm concentrates on spousal and common law sponsorships, parent and grandparent sponsorships, citizenship applications, and temporary resident matters such as visitor visas, study permits, and work permits. Its family law work stays out of court: uncontested divorces, separation agreements, marriage and cohabitation contracts, foreign divorce opinion letters, wills, and powers of attorney. Since 2015 the family law side has centred on alternative dispute resolution rather than litigation.

The firm also runs a dedicated Gay and Lesbian Law group for LGBTQ2S+ clients, and it maintains a Serbian language version of its site. The founder holds bachelor's degrees in English and sociology from the University of San Francisco and a JD with honours from the University of Ottawa, with further training in immigration and comparative refugee law at Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles. Earlier experience includes work with the Office of the Children's Lawyer, articling at Davies Ward Phillips and Vineberg LLP, and a position at Jordan Battista LLP. The firm's own blog pairs immigration and family law topics with Buddhist and contemplative themes.
