About Gold Law

Gold Law is a small, single-lawyer criminal defence firm in Toronto, founded by Jordan Gold, a barrister and solicitor who has practiced exclusively in criminal law for more than a decade. Before starting the firm, Jordan Gold was a partner at another criminal law firm in Toronto. The office is at 55 University Avenue, Suite 1100, in the city's financial core. Gold Law represents clients facing a wide range of charges, from assault, sexual assault, and drug trafficking to murder, attempted murder, and firearm offences, plus driving charges such as impaired driving, Over 80, and dangerous driving causing death.

Jordan Gold earned a B.A. from McGill University and a J.D. from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2012, focusing studies on criminal law and constitutional law, and appears regularly before the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. Jordan Gold is a member of the Criminal Lawyers' Association and volunteers as rostered counsel with the Barbra Schlifer Clinic's pro bono Criminalization of Women Project. The firm offers free initial consultations and says it's regularly called on by media in Canada for commentary on criminal law cases in the news.

Who handles what

The neighbourhood

Gold Law's office is in Suite 1100 at 55 University Avenue, an 18 storey office tower built in 1977 at the northeast corner of University Avenue and Wellington Street, in the heart of Toronto's financial core. The same street, a few blocks north, is home to the Superior Court of Justice's criminal courthouse at 361 University Avenue, where the firm's cases are heard.

University Avenue is a wide, landscaped boulevard that runs from the financial district north past Osgoode Hall and the city's court buildings toward the hospitals clustered further up near College Street, giving the corridor a strong institutional and legal character along its length.
