About Emily Dixon

Emily Dixon runs a solo criminal defence practice in Toronto, working from an office on Berkeley Street in the Cabbagetown-South St. James Town neighbourhood. Dixon was called to the Ontario bar in 2014 and worked at Legal Aid Ontario before opening the practice in 2018. The practice is exclusively criminal defence law, representing people facing all types of criminal charges at trial and on appeal, and also representing complainants and witnesses in criminal matters. Dixon has appeared at every level of court in Ontario.

Dixon holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia, earned as a Dean's List Scholar, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria Faculty of Law, completed in 2013 with awards for academic achievement and community involvement. Dixon is currently pursuing a Master of Laws at Osgoode Hall Law School at York University and teaches at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University. Dixon is a member of the Criminal Lawyers' Association and sits on the board of directors of Fair Change Community Services, a Toronto organization that advocates on poverty criminalization and homelessness.
