About Christopher Robertson, Barrister & Solicitor

Robertson Law is a sole employment law practice run by Chris Robertson from an office in Corktown, in downtown Toronto. Robertson was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2003, after earning an LL.B. from Queen's University in 2002 and a B.A. from the University of Toronto, then articling and practising for five years at a national firm representing corporate clients. Robertson now handles employment litigation and commercial disputes, representing corporations and owner-managed enterprises as well as management and executive employees, and has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.

Before turning to law, Robertson served as a senior officer in the Canadian infantry, including a United Nations peacekeeping tour in the former Yugoslavia and domestic emergency relief operations, a background the firm says brings real world experience into the litigation process. The practice concentrates on wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal, discrimination in employment, and matters involving federally regulated employers. Robertson also co-hosts Water Cooler Justice, a monthly podcast with Sarah Goodenough that walks through anonymized workplace conflicts and the employment law questions they raise.
