The Chinese and Southeast Asian Legal Clinic (CSALC) is a community legal clinic funded by Legal Aid Ontario that provides free legal services to low-income, non-English-speaking clients from the Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodian and Laotian communities. Its staff, which includes lawyers, community legal workers, a paralegal and a law student, advise and represent clients before tribunals such as the Landlord and Tenant Board, the Social Benefits Tribunal, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Immigration and Refugee Board. The clinic is overseen by a volunteer, community-based board of directors and is independent from government.
