About Anisman Law

Anisman Law is a Toronto employment law practice led by principal lawyer Justin W. Anisman, who works for companies and individuals alike on every part of the field, wrongful dismissal, human rights and discrimination included. Anisman was called to the Ontario Bar in 2014 and is a commercial litigator whose practice centres on employment law. The aim, whether the client is a worker or a business, is a practical way through even a very difficult legal problem.

Anisman founded Legally Speaking, a free online library of Ontario employment law at torontoemployment.law. It's split into collections for employees (50 articles) and for employers (46), with topics ranging from whether an Ontario teaching assistant could lose the job over an OnlyFans account run under a pen name to whether a boss can order remote staff back to the office. There's also an employment law glossary and an FAQ written for workers and employers across the province.

The firm's reach goes past the workplace, too, with broad civil litigation experience behind it. Outside the practice, Anisman serves as Chief Information Officer of Advocates for the Rule of Law, a charity and legal think tank that promotes constitutionalism and the rule of law in Canada and internationally. The office is at 330 Bay Street, Suite 1400, in downtown Toronto.

Consultations are free, in person or by telephone, and Anisman answers calls and emails at any hour of the day or night. Fees are matched to the case and can be hourly, a flat fee or a contingency arrangement.
