Free consultationAdamian Law is a Toronto law firm that works exclusively on mergers and acquisitions, representing buyers and sellers of small businesses and low mid-market companies in transactions under $20 million. Its client base includes search funds, private equity groups, and owner-operators. The firm is led by founder and principal lawyer Artur Adamian, who holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Western Ontario along with a BFA from Ryerson University and a BSc from York University.
Rather than billing by the hour, Adamian Law uses what it calls a systematic, three-step pricing method that sets a minimum and maximum fee range tied to the value and complexity of each deal, then spells out exactly what's included before the file starts. The firm's own published example prices a $5 million asset purchase at $20,000 to $30,000 plus HST and disbursements. The initial consultation and the letter of intent are always free, and if a deal doesn't close, clients get a partial refund for the unfinished work. The firm handles the full life of a transaction: negotiating the letter of intent, running due diligence, structuring the deal as an asset or share purchase, and closing.

Free consultationAdamian Law's office is in 320 Bay Street, a building now known as The Permanent. It went up between 1928 and 1930 as the head office of Canada Permanent Mortgage Corporation, one of the tallest buildings in Toronto when it opened, with an Art Deco design that included a vaulted banking hall. The property has been designated under the Ontario Heritage Act since 1975 and was restored by its current owners, Menkes and TD, between 2019 and 2021, with the original facade and lobby kept in place.
The address sits at Bay and Adelaide, in the middle of Toronto's Financial District. For a firm that works only on business transactions and corporate finance, being based in a building that once served as a financial institution's own headquarters is a fitting overlap of the neighbourhood's banking history and the deal work the firm does today.
