Gilmore & Gilmore Professional Corporation has practiced law in Alliston, Ontario since 1986, when the firm opened with one lawyer working part time and one full time legal secretary at 458 Victoria Street East. Nearly four decades later, that's still the firm's home base, now backed by six in house staff, a conveyancer, and a number of virtual assistants, plus a second office at 1 Yonge Street in Toronto. James M. Gilmore, the firm's lawyer, earned an undergraduate degree from Trinity College at the University of Toronto and a law degree from the University of Windsor. The legal career started in Stayner in 1982, before the practice moved to Alliston in 1986, the same year the firm opened its doors there. Before the focus narrowed to estates and real estate, the practice covered criminal law, family law, and civil litigation in courts across Ontario. Gilmore also serves as the firm's Computer and Systems Manager, a role that fits with the firm's emphasis on technology.
