About Chin and Dorr Lawyers

Chin & Orr Lawyers is a Midland based firm founded in 1994 by Peter Chin and Susan Orr. The pair built the practice on the belief that for law to be seen as fair, clients had to actually understand it, and the firm still describes itself that way today. Orr died of cancer, and the firm says Orr's commitment to community service and work ethic remain part of its culture.

Managing partner Peter Chin holds a Bachelor of Mathematics and a Bachelor of Law and was called to the bar in 1992, and works with clients in both English and French. Partner Helen Pugacheva-Juncal took a different route into Ontario law, with a comparative law degree from Russia in 2009, a master's in international law from China in 2015, and a master's in Canadian common law before being called to the Ontario bar in 2021; Pugacheva-Juncal assists clients in Russian, Mandarin, and English.

The firm now operates as a team of five lawyers backed by law clerks, legal assistants, and students, working out of its Midland office with a second location in Innisfil and a presence in Barrie. Its practice spans real estate, wills and estates, family law, business law, litigation, and immigration, and it says it has helped more than 10,000 clients since 1994. The real estate group alone points to more than 50 years of combined experience and over 5,000 completed transactions.
