Karen Jokinen Criminal Law is a solo criminal defence practice at 35 Clapperton Street in Barrie, Ontario, run by Karen E. Jokinen, LL.B. Jokinen has practised criminal law exclusively for over 35 years and is certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a specialist in criminal law. The practice defends charges under the Criminal Code, the Youth Criminal Justice Act, and the Highway Traffic Act, appearing at courthouses across the province on matters that range from impaired driving and domestic assault to serious charges such as sexual assault and murder.

Jokinen's career began in London, Ontario, under the mentorship of Fletcher Dawson, who went on to become a judge of the Superior Court of Justice. The practice relocated to Barrie in 1997 and has continued there since. Jokinen is co-author, with Peter Keen, of Impaired Driving and Other Criminal Code Driving Offences: A Practitioner's Handbook, published by Emond Publishing and now in its second edition, and Jokinen sits on educational panels for the Law Society of Ontario, including its annual drinking and driving symposium.
