Jacoby Arkell Professional Corporation is a small law firm in downtown Barrie that has served the city since 1980. Founding lawyer Klaus Jacoby was called to the bar in 1978 and started a law practice in Barrie immediately after articling, building a real estate practice that has now run for more than four decades. Tracy Arkell, called to the bar in 1999, grew up in Barrie and articled at a large Bay Street law firm before returning to Barrie to practice. After nearly two decades handling real estate law, business law, and municipal solicitor work at a larger Barrie firm, Tracy Arkell joined the practice, then known as Jacoby & Jacoby, in 2016. The firm has since taken its current name, Jacoby Arkell Professional Corporation.

The firm works in three areas: real estate law (residential and commercial purchases and sales, financing, condominiums, leasing, and land use and development), business law (incorporations, partnerships, business purchases and sales, corporate governance, and contract review), and estate administration (guiding executors and beneficiaries through the process of settling an estate, including obtaining the Certificate of Estate Trustee, once known as probate). With two lawyers, an office manager, and a small legal assistant team, the firm keeps clients in direct contact with the lawyer handling their file rather than only a law clerk.
