About AbiLaw Family Professional Corporation

AbiLaw Family Professional Corporation is a small family law firm with offices in Peterborough and Brooklin, Ontario. The Peterborough office, on Reid Street, is the firm's main location and keeps regular business hours, while the Brooklin office in the Town of Whitby operates by appointment. Abi Adeusi, a barrister and solicitor called to the bar by the Law Society of Ontario in 2010, leads the practice, which doesn't take on work outside family law: separation, divorce, custody, child and spousal support, property division, cohabitation agreements, and enforcement of family court orders.

Adeusi trained as a lawyer in England, earning a law degree from the University of Wolverhampton in 1993 and a postgraduate diploma in legal practice from the University of Bournemouth in 1999, then worked there as a solicitor before moving to Canada in 2008. Adeusi is a trained collaborative lawyer, completed Riverdale Mediation's family mediation training program, and served as president of the Peterborough Law Association from 2021 to 2023. Layo Adeusi, called to the Ontario bar in June 2023 after graduating from Durham University Law School in the United Kingdom, also practices at the firm and currently serves as first vice president of the Peterborough Law Association.
