Semko Law is a personal injury practice based in Mississauga that takes on car accident claims, statutory accident benefits disputes, slip and fall and trip and fall cases, long-term and short-term disability claims, and dog bite injuries. The firm works exclusively on a contingency fee basis, capped at 33% of any settlement or award plus HST, so clients pay nothing upfront and the fee only applies to what they recover, not to disbursements or taxes. It describes itself as a small team rather than a call-centre operation, with clients staying in contact with the same people throughout a file instead of being passed between departments. The firm was founded by Arthur Semko, who started in the legal field as a paralegal in 2011 after graduating from Humber College. Semko went on to earn a Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, graduating Cum Laude and on the Dean's List, and was selected for a study abroad program at Hertford College, University of Oxford, spending a summer studying international law. In 2023, Semko completed a certificate in negotiation and dispute resolution at Harvard Law School. The paralegal team includes a member licensed by the Law Society of Ontario since 2019 who focuses on accident benefits claims.
