About Maks Law Firm

Maks Law Firm is a Mississauga, Ontario law firm founded in June 2015 by barrister Murad Ali Khan. It practises criminal law, family law, civil litigation, business and corporate law, wills and estates, real estate law, and immigration law, and also offers notary public services, all from a single office in Mississauga's City Centre district. The firm was built around the idea that legal help should be affordable as well as result oriented, and that framing still runs through how it describes its work today.

Khan earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law after completing a Master of Science in Economics and Statistics at the University of Alberta. While at Windsor, Khan received the First Dean Elman Scholarship to work with the United Nations on an international development project. Before founding the firm, Khan worked with the Alberta Solicitor General in Edmonton and held roles with the federal government in Ottawa. The team today includes barristers and solicitors, an immigration consultant, and a real estate conveyancer, along with a group of associates called to the bar in Pakistan who support the firm's immigration and cross-border family files.
