That advocacy work included advising CBC and Globe and Mail journalists on gender based violence and the law, a citation in Sally Armstrong's book Power Shift: The Longest Revolution, and a feature on CBC's The Fifth Estate examining polygamy in Canadian Muslim communities. In February 2026, Sajjad-Hazai was appointed a per diem deputy judge on the Small Claims Court in Brampton, and continues to practice at the firm alongside that role.
