The office is on Queen Street, the community's main street, which was once Highway 50 and is now Peel Road 50. Bolton started out as Bolton Mills around 1822, when James Bolton had a hand in building a flour mill for a relative, George Bolton, and the old village core sits in a valley with the Humber River running through it.
The Aylmer office on Sydenham Street East is in an Elgin County town on Catfish Creek, a short way north of Lake Erie. Helped by that access to the lake, Aylmer had become the market centre for a farming and timber district by the mid-1860s.
