About Paolucci Law

Paolucci Law is a sole practitioner firm in Ottawa run by Deanna Paolucci, focused on family law, child protection, children's lawyer work, and immigration law. Paolucci earned a B.A. Honours in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Carleton University in 2006 and an LL.B. from the University of Notre Dame in 2011, then completed the National Committee on Accreditation equivalency exams in 2013 and was called to the Bar by the Law Society of Upper Canada in 2014. Before setting up practice in Ottawa, Paolucci worked in criminal defence in Australia, practiced international law with a firm in Germany, and worked with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime on maritime piracy matters in Kenya.

The firm's family law work covers divorce, custody and access, support, property division, separation agreements, mediation, arbitration, parental alienation cases, and Hague Convention child abduction matters. On the child protection side, it represents parents through Children's Aid Society involvement, from voluntary services agreements and apprehension defence through to trials and appeals. Paolucci also holds a government appointment as a Children's Lawyer, and the firm offers notary public and commissioner of oaths services. It runs as a paperless office with Zoom consultations, and accepts legal aid certificates for family and child protection matters on a limited basis.
