About Northbridge Legal Services

NorthBridge Legal Services is a small Ottawa law practice run through Kyle Thompson Professional Corporation, operating out of an office on the 8th floor of 150 Elgin Street in downtown Ottawa. The firm practises family law and criminal defence, along with charity and non-profit law and notary services, and it accepts both Legal Aid Ontario certificates and private clients. It describes its client base as reaching beyond Ottawa into Eastern Ontario communities such as Cornwall, Perth, Brockville, Pembroke, and L'Orignal.

Kyle Thompson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Justice from Laurentian University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa, and articled at a local Ontario firm before starting NorthBridge. Before practising law, Thompson spent five years in public sector work, including a stint with the Canada Revenue Agency's Charities Directorate, background that carries directly into the firm's charity and non-profit law work, where services include incorporation, governance, and CRA compliance for charities and other social purpose organizations alongside the family and criminal law caseload.
