About Mazerolle & Lemay

Mazerolle & Lemay is a bilingual law firm on Cyrville Road in Ottawa's east end. The firm was founded in the early 1990s, around the time Marc Lemay, one of its founders, was called to the Ontario bar in 1990, and Lemay still practices there today. Six lawyers work at the firm, and most hold dual credentials as both lawyers and notaries. Its practice covers business and corporate law, commercial and residential real estate, construction, employment law, wills and estates, municipal and public law, statutory offences, and litigation and arbitration, with services offered in both English and French.

The team brings varied backgrounds to that work. One lawyer, who leads the firm's business and corporate practice, belongs to both the Law Society of Ontario and the Quebec Bar and worked at a major financial institution before starting a law career. Another continues a family legal tradition in Ottawa: a grandfather who played for the Ottawa Senators in 1906 and practiced law in the city until 1965, and a father who practiced law in the Ottawa community for 60 years until 2014. That lawyer also works as a certified NHL Players' Association agent, advising hockey players and other athletes. The newest lawyer at the firm trained in both the common law and civil law traditions through the University of Ottawa's National Program.
