About Lendor & Guest LLP

Lendor & Guest LLP is a family law firm on West Hunt Club Road in Ottawa's west end. John Guest opened a solo practice, Guest Law, in 2016, and Allison Lendor joined the following year to form Lendor & Guest. Both founding partners practice exclusively in family law and built the firm to handle cases outside of court as well as inside it, through negotiation, mediation, and collaborative family law, turning to litigation when a settlement can't be reached. The firm doesn't take on other areas of law, keeping its focus on separation, divorce, custody, support, and the agreements that go with them.

The team now includes associate lawyer Jessica Margeit Pineda, who joined after running an independent family law practice, along with law students and legal assistants who support the firm's caseload. Guest sits on the collaborative practice panel through Collaborative Divorce Ottawa and has taught Family Law Practice Skills at Osgoode Hall Law School, while Lendor's practice includes representing children in parenting disputes through the Office of the Children's Lawyer. Consultations at the firm run one hour and are billed at the lawyer's hourly rate rather than offered free, and files are typically opened with a retainer deposit held in trust.
