About Mason PC

Mason PC is a small Ottawa area firm that works only in trademark law. Lawyer and registered Canadian Trademark Agent Cynthia Mason founded the firm in 2014, after ten years in the intellectual property group of a national law firm. The firm searches, registers, monitors, and enforces trademarks for Canadian businesses, filing in Canada, the United States, and other countries where a client sells products or services. Its office is on Innovation Drive in Kanata, inside the Kanata North Technology Park in Ottawa's west end. Clients described on the firm's site range from early stage startups to some of North America's largest companies, including a Canadian airline, a major food manufacturer, and a Canadian wine producer.

Mason holds a law degree from the University of New Brunswick and an honours science degree from Saint Mary's University. Mason was called to the Ontario bar in 2002 and became a registered trademark agent in 2004. In 2022, the firm received a Silver Excellence Award in the Best Use of Technology in a Law Firm category at the Canadian Law Awards. The firm also built Markably, an online platform where entrepreneurs and startups can prepare and file their own trademark applications at a lower cost.
