Jurmain Law Office is a small immigration and refugee law firm in Thorold, Ontario, with roots going back to 1973, when Peter Jurmain joined established Thorold lawyer James Vincent McManamy shortly after being called to the bar. Peter's early practice covered real estate law, wills and estates, and general solicitor work before adding refugee protection services in 1989. The practice became an independent firm in 1994, and Jonathon W. Jurmain joined in 1998, soon after being called to the bar. Peter Jurmain retired in December 2017, and Jonathon has run the firm since, focusing almost exclusively on immigration and refugee law.

The firm now handles family, economic, and business immigration, visitor visas and work permits, and refugee claims, including cases involving people who arrive at the border without a visa. Its office sits close to several major crossings: less than 30 kilometres from the Queenston and Niagara Falls ports of entry, about 45 kilometres from the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie, and roughly an hour from Toronto's Pearson Airport. Jonathon W. Jurmain grew up in nearby St. Catharines and still lives there. The firm's owner holds an honours English degree from Western University and a law degree from the University of New Brunswick.
