About Erin O'Rourke Law

Erin O'Rourke Law is a solo employment, immigration, and notary practice based in downtown St. Catharines. The firm opened in 2020, launched directly after its founder finished articling at SimpsonWigle LAW LLP in Hamilton, where the work included corporate commercial and litigation files, full carriage of small claims matters, and Human Rights Tribunal applications. Before that, the founder studied at the University of Windsor Faculty of Law, served as a Social Justice Fellow with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Toronto in 2018, and worked at Legal Assistance of Windsor on immigration files and Sheriff's Notice evictions.

That background shaped the firm's two main practice areas. The employment side covers non-unionized workplaces, including wrongful dismissal and workplace harassment matters, and the immigration side covers refugee claims, humanitarian and compassionate grounds applications, detention reviews, and work permit, study permit, and permanent residence applications. Erin O'Rourke Law also runs a legal coaching service, an unbundled option for people who want to handle part of a matter themselves, and provides notary public services. In 2021 the firm was named a Clio Reisman Award finalist in the Best New Law Firm category.
