About Laushway Law

Laushway Law is a small civil litigation and personal injury firm based in Prescott, Ontario, on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River in the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. The practice traces its roots to a firm established in Prescott in the 1930s. Barry Laushway joined the practice in 1976 and built a career in civil trial work, and Barry's sons, Scott D. Laushway and Bryan D. Laushway, now run the firm together. Scott D. Laushway earned a law degree at Queen's University, was called to the Ontario bar in 2004, and articled at a large Ottawa firm before returning to join the family practice. Bryan D. Laushway studied at the University of Ottawa, was called to the bar in 2007, and articled directly with Laushway Law.

The firm concentrates on plaintiff-side personal injury work, including motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall claims, and disability insurance disputes, alongside civil litigation, real estate transactions, and wills, estates and powers of attorney. On personal injury and civil litigation files, clients don't pay a retainer and owe nothing unless the case is won or settled. From its Prescott base, Laushway Law also holds consultations in Brockville and Cornwall and serves clients across Eastern Ontario, including Kingston, Ottawa, Belleville, Kemptville, Smiths Falls, Perth and Athens.
