Headwaters LLP is a law firm based in Kenora, Ontario, on Treaty 3 territory on Lake of the Woods, the traditional homeland of the Anishinaabeg. The firm practices exclusively in Indigenous law, representing First Nations, their members, and Indigenous organizations, corporations, and institutions across Treaty 3, 5, and 9 territories in Ontario and Manitoba. It operated for years as Major, Sobiski, Moffatt LLP before adopting its current name, and managing partner Yana Sobiski and partner Travis Moffatt, both with the firm under the earlier name, now lead a team of five partners, two additional lawyers, an articling student, and administrative staff.

The firm's work spans land claims, including illegal flooding of reserve lands, treaty land entitlement shortfalls, and breaches of treaty obligations, along with economic development agreements for hydroelectric power, resource projects, and Indigenous wealth trusts. It also drafts self-government by-laws and governance policy, advocates on environmental and resource-development matters before the Ontario Energy Board and the National Energy Board, and supports First Nations in reviving their own legal orders and asserting jurisdiction. Headwaters LLP litigates at all levels of the Ontario courts, the Manitoba Court of Queens Bench, the Federal Court, and the Federal Court of Appeal, and appears before tribunals including the Canada Labour Board and the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal.
