About Duxbury Law

Duxbury Law is a small civil litigation firm with offices in Hamilton and Brantford, and its two lawyers bring a combined 50 years of experience to the practice. The firm's principal litigator, Brian Duxbury, is a Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation and a member of The Advocates' Society, with more than 30 years appearing before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal, and the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal. Brian Duxbury grew up in a rural Ontario farming family before studying at the University of Toronto's Trinity College and at Osgoode Hall Law School.

The firm's litigation work centers on business disputes, estates and wills, and municipal law, including hearings under the Niagara Escarpment Planning and Development Act, the Heritage Act, and before conservation authorities and the Environmental Review Tribunal. Associate Josh Perell adds an unusual academic path to the practice, holding a law degree and a civil law degree from McGill University's Faculty of Law, plus a PhD in History from Western University, alongside memberships in the Hamilton Law Association and the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association.
