About DCA Lawyers

DCA Lawyers is a small business law firm based in Hamilton, Ontario, with a practice built around land development, commercial and residential real estate, and corporate law. Anthony DiCenzo, the firm's founder, earned a law degree from the University of Toronto in 1985 and was called to the bar in 1987. After several years practicing real estate and corporate law at national and international firms in Toronto, DiCenzo brought that experience to Hamilton in 1993 to establish DiCenzo & Associates. In 2018, on the firm's 25th anniversary, it took a new name, DCA Lawyers, along with a new office at its current Stone Church Road East location.

The firm's development focus has personal roots. DiCenzo grew up around a family homebuilding business that DiCenzo's father started in the 1950s, and later became the face of DiCenzo Homes and Nexus Developments alongside the law practice, which centers on guiding clients from land acquisition through development approvals, subdivision and condominium registration, and construction completion. Managing lawyer Allan Buist, an Osgoode Hall Law School graduate called to the Ontario Bar in 1998, joined the firm in 2000 and handles commercial and residential real estate, subdivision and condominium development, construction financing, and commercial leasing. DiCenzo describes the work as assisting developers, builders, lenders, and entrepreneurs, and the firm serves the development community across the Greater Toronto-Hamilton Area.
