About Fieldstone Law

One of the highest-rated law firms in Burlington, going by its Google reviews.

Fieldstone Law is a Burlington, Ontario firm practising business law, real estate, and wills and estates. It's the rebrand of Frederikse Law, the practice that founding lawyer Barbara Frederikse started in Burlington in 2017, and the firm still works from a single office on Harvester Road with four lawyers plus a paralegal and clerk.

Frederikse was called to the Ontario Bar in 1999 after earning a Bachelor of Laws in both common law and civil law from McGill University, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and French from Brock University. Before starting the firm, Frederikse spent 14 years working on Bay Street in Toronto, and now applies that experience to smaller, more personal business, real estate, and estate matters for clients across Halton Region.

The rest of the team was called to the bar more recently, in 2022 and 2023, and includes lawyers with backgrounds in international and European legal study as well as a paralegal who also worked on Bay Street before joining the firm in 2017. Fieldstone Law has also picked up local Readers' Choice recognition in both 2024 and 2025.
