Weiler Law is the sole practitioner office of Luke Weiler, based in downtown Guelph and open since 2013. It's a small practice with a focus on family law, child protection, and wills and estates, serving clients across Guelph and Wellington County. Family matters cover the full range: separation and divorce, custody and access, child and spousal support, separation agreements, domestic contracts, and independent legal advice. The firm accepts Legal Aid Ontario certificates for family and child protection files, and it also takes on Small Claims Court disputes and offers notary public services.
Luke Weiler holds an honours Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Guelph and has lived in the city since 2000, with earlier volunteer work at community legal clinics and later a role at the Legal Aid Clinic of Guelph and Wellington County. The practice represents children through the Office of the Children's Lawyer, and it appears before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and administrative tribunals. Weiler Law describes its approach as economical and individualized. A notice posted in March 2020 set out telephone and videoconference meetings as a way to keep serving clients during the pandemic.
Wheelchair accessibleWeiler Law works out of 164 Norfolk Street in downtown Guelph, near the corner of Norfolk and Suffolk. Guelph is a university city, and the founder earned a degree at the University of Guelph before opening the office in the downtown core. For a family and child protection practice, the downtown address keeps the firm close to the county's courts, with the Superior Court of Justice on Woolwich Street and the Ontario Court of Justice on Wyndham Street South both sitting inside the same compact grid. From this one office the firm reaches clients throughout Guelph and the surrounding Wellington County.
