Fallis, McMillan & Ferrier is a general-practice law firm rooted in Ontario's Grey and Wellington county farm country. Claude E. Fallis, LL.B., Q.C., started the practice in Mount Forest in 1938, and it has stayed with the small towns it serves ever since. Today the firm works from three offices, with its main location in Durham and further offices in Mount Forest and Palmerston. Its lawyers are Peter T. Fallis and Alexandra A. Ferrier.
The lawyers handle the everyday legal needs of a rural region: real estate purchases, sales, and mortgages, wills and estate planning, estate administration, and corporate and commercial work, along with municipal law and civil litigation. They act for clients across the Wellington, Grey, Bruce, Perth, and Dufferin county areas. When a matter needs a hearing, the firm appears before boards and tribunals such as the Ontario Land Tribunal, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, and the Ontario Human Rights Commission, as well as in the courts. A small support team, including a licensed paralegal and law clerks who cover real estate, estates, corporate files, wills, and litigation, backs up the practice.

By appointmentThe firm's main office sits at 195 Lambton Street East in Durham, a West Grey town built around the Saugeen River and its three dams, at the meeting of Highway 6 and Grey Road 4. Durham once served as the livestock exchange for the surrounding Grey and Bruce farms, and that agricultural country still shapes much of the work that comes through the door, from rural property deals to estates and municipal files.
The practice reaches across three small towns. Mount Forest, where the firm began, stands on a height of land near the headwaters of the South Saugeen and is one of the highest towns in southern Ontario. Palmerston, to the south in the Town of Minto, grew up as a Grand Trunk Railway junction and still keeps the only original station left in Wellington County. Keeping offices in all three places lets the firm stay close to clients spread across Wellington, Grey, and the neighbouring counties.
