Scott Vining Law is a sole-practitioner firm in Owen Sound, Ontario, run by Scott Vining, a barrister and solicitor with more than 35 years in practice. Vining's career has included work as criminal defence counsel and as a federal Crown prosecutor, experience that later fed into a practice built around family law and Children's Aid Society matters. Vining is a standing agent for the Office of the Children's Lawyer, representing children in Grey and Bruce Counties, and has represented First Nations clients from the Chippewas of Nawash (Cape Croker) and the Saugeen First Nations.

Day to day, the firm handles divorce, custody and access, spousal and child support, separation agreements and domestic contracts, plus wills, estate matters, and real estate and mortgage transactions. Vining has appeared before every level of court in Ontario and has conducted hundreds of trials, and the firm still accepts legal aid certificates for family law files. It isn't a one-person operation in practice: a law clerk who has focused on family law since 2001, a legal assistant who handles real estate and estate work, and a licensed paralegal who assists with family law and Office of the Children's Lawyer matters round out the office.
