Bryan M. Hicks Professional Corporation is a solo insurance law practice based in Hanover, Ontario. Bryan Hicks was called to the Ontario bar in 1997 and holds a B.A. and LL.B., along with a license as Barrister and Solicitor, LSO No. 39761K. Hicks started out in rural general practice, then joined Formosa Mutual Insurance in September of 2000 as staff counsel and network administrator. Over the following years, Hicks held various roles at Formosa Mutual and its successor company, Trillium Mutual, most recently as Advisor, Compliance and Regulatory Services and Corporate Secretary, until leaving that role in July of 2023.

The firm now runs as a private consulting practice, offering insurance law advice, claims assessment, settlement review, and compliance and governance work. Clients include Ontario regulated insurers and small to medium sized businesses, and the practice covers claims review, underwriting review, governance, compliance, insurance defence litigation, and settlement counsel. Hicks meets clients in person across Ontario and also works remotely, bringing more than two decades spent inside a mutual insurer's legal and compliance function to the advice offered today.
