About Elrick Law

Elrick Law is a small litigation firm on King Street West in downtown Oshawa, serving clients across Durham Region. Founder Andrew Elrick was born in Oshawa and grew up in Durham Region, then earned an honours undergraduate degree from Wilfrid Laurier University as an academic gold medallist and a law degree from Queen's University. Early career work at a Toronto insurance law firm, handling civil motions and fire and arson trials, was followed by more than twenty years at another Oshawa litigation firm before Andrew Elrick opened this practice. The firm now handles personal injury, estate litigation, and commercial litigation, along with Small Claims Court matters up to $50,000 and Highway Traffic Act charges like speeding and careless driving.

The Province of Ontario appointed Andrew Elrick a civil remedies adjudicator in 2021, and in 2023 the Durham Region Law Association gave Andrew Elrick its Collegiality Award before the province designated Elrick King's Counsel later that year. A 2024 program at Harvard Law School added formal mediation training to the practice. Rounding out the team are Lauren Wade, called to the bar after articling at the firm, and licensed paralegal Jordana Baumgartner. Together they handle commercial litigation, personal injury, family law, and cases before the Provincial Offences Court and the Human Rights Tribunal.
