About Law Office of Liz McMillan

The Law Office of Liz McMillan is a solo law practice in downtown Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, handling family law, wills, powers of attorney, and notary work. Liz McMillan was called to the Ontario bar in January 2017. After much deliberation, McMillan decided to open a law office, with a focus on providing quality and affordable legal representation. Before opening the practice, McMillan articled with a local sole practitioner in Sault Ste. Marie, working in wills and estate law, family law, and Consent and Capacity Board matters.

McMillan grew up in the area, graduating from Central Algoma Secondary School on the honour roll in 2006. A Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Law and Justice and Sociology followed, earned cum laude at Laurentian University's Algoma University campus, and then a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa. While in law school, McMillan worked in the university's Community Legal Clinic on landlord and tenant files and researched environmental law issues through the uOttawa-Ecojustice Environmental Law Clinic. McMillan is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Algoma District Law Association, and is also a notary public.
