About Woosevelt

Woosevelt Dumarsais is a criminal defence lawyer based in Montréal, admitted to the Barreau du Québec in 2020. He currently practises with Riendeau Avocats inc., appearing before the Court of Québec, the Superior Court and the Québec Court of Appeal, after two years advising detained clients in criminal law and youth protection matters at the Centre communautaire juridique de Montréal. From 2020 to 2022 he worked as a law clerk at the Québec Court of Appeal under the Honourable Martin Vauclair, analyzing factums and drafting legal opinions. He also teaches legal research and the foundations of law as a course lecturer in the Techniques juridiques programs at Collèges O'Sullivan and Ahuntsic. His practice spans criminal and penal law, youth criminal justice, administrative and constitutional law, municipal law, civil law, professional discipline and ethics, immigration, small-claims mediation and employment law, and he is trilingual in French, English and Creole.
