About Vanessa

Vanessa Laite grew up in Head of Bay d'Espoir and lives in Clarenville with her husband and two daughters. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Memorial University in 2009 and a Juris Doctor from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton in 2012, and was called to the Newfoundland and Labrador Bar in 2013. She joined the firm of Hughes and Brannan that year, working as an associate lawyer until 2021, when she started her own practice. She has appeared in both the Supreme Court and Provincial Court, has sat as a Municipal Assessment Appeals Commissioner, and has completed family mediation training through Riverdale Mediation in Ontario. Her practice covers family law, real estate, wills, estates, corporate law, fishing enterprise sales and acquisitions, civil litigation, and personal injury. She volunteers as a moot coach for law students and a Girl Guides of Canada leader, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Clarenville SPCA.
