About Sibel

Sibel Ataogul is a graduate of the Université de Montréal and has been a member of the Barreau since 2004, practising in labour law and rights and freedoms in both collective and individual matters. A partner at the firm, she handles union accreditation, grievance and dispute arbitration, judicial review, and occupational health and safety litigation, and has developed particular expertise in constitutional challenges, having had provisions of the Labour Code, the Highway Safety Code, and a Montreal bylaw struck down for violating freedom of association and expression. She regularly pleads before civil and administrative tribunals — she was among counsel for Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois at the Supreme Court of Canada — has taught collective labour relations law at the Université de Montréal and political science and law at UQAM, and is a co-founder of the Association des juristes progressistes.
