About Sheldon

Sheldon Pinx founded Pinx & Company; the firm's own attorney page lists him as 'Founding Lawyer (1974 - 2025)' and now directs inquiries about him to Jonathan Pinx rather than to Sheldon directly. Over his career he represented private citizens, corporations, and law enforcement officials before every level of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada, and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1991. He focused on the application of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms in criminal defence and contributed to a number of precedent-setting acquittals. He served as President of the Manitoba Bar Association and Chairperson of the Criminal Justice Section of the Canadian Bar Association, and in 2014 the Manitoba Defence Lawyers Association gave him its Award of Merit for 42 years of work in criminal defence. He earned his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Manitoba in 1972 and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba in 1969.
