About Shayna

Shayna Beeksma is the founder of Beeksma Law, having earned her J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2011 and been called to the Ontario bar in 2012. She summered and articled at the Toronto office of Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP, then practiced with a boutique commercial and estate litigation firm in Burlington and a mid-sized Hamilton firm before opening her own practice in 2018. She regularly appears before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and has argued cases at the Divisional Court, the Court of Appeal, and the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board. She is involved with the Hamilton Law Association, the Grey County Law Association, the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers, and several community boards in the Grey-Bruce area.
