About Sandra

Sandra Scovino, now retired, practiced family law exclusively and built extensive experience representing the Children's Aid Society along with parents and children in child welfare cases. She also served as an agent for the Children's Lawyer and belonged to the Durham Region Collaborative Practice Association, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, the Durham Region Lawyers' Association, and the Ontario Association of Child Protection Lawyers. She sat on the steering committee for Raising Resilient Families, a research study run by Durham College. Sandra earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto in 1982, an Honours Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor in 1983, and her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Ottawa in 1987, going on to practice family law for more than thirty years.
