About Sabeeya

Sabeeya Akram co-owns Ayoun Law and handles family and civil litigation matters. Her interest in law grew out of her parents' work helping disadvantaged girls, and she still offers mentorship to young women considering law school. She began her career focused on medical malpractice, volunteering at a law clinic before becoming chief editor of an Ontario-wide study on treatment decision-making published by McMaster University. She also advocated for changes to visa requirements affecting medical students, working with local MPs and MPPs to push through a policy change. After becoming a mother, her focus shifted toward family law, where she works to understand each client's emotional and practical circumstances.
